There have been a good handful of my ancestors that have been in trouble with the law at some time in their life and if newspapers would print some genealogy information when writing their articles I would undoubtedly have a whole lot more. Mostly these crimes has been poaching and trespassing, fairly typical behaviour for country living people that were not particularly well off and had big families. Some have done a little more and have committed robberies or assaults, one abandoned their childrena and there is even a County Assizes trial for trying to cover up the birth of a child.
